The new Intel Core i7-990X Extreme Edition is a 3.46GHz six-cores high performance processor with 12 processing threads.It can be overclocked to 3.73GHz using Intel’s Turbo Boost technology , sports 12MB of cache , and 3 DDR3 channels for 1066MHz memory. Intel recommends the new CPU to be paired with the Intel X58 Express Chipset .It is based on the 32nm manufacturing process technology .
