So, how do you show off an emerging baby bump? If you’re supermodel Lara Stone, you slip into a tight-fitting fire-engine red Calvin Klein gown and wait for all eyes to be trained on you and that is exactly what Lara did as she made an appearance at the 22nd Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards in New York on Monday night.
The Dutch model looked stunning and showed off her flawless complexion by going light on the make-up and wore her “pregnancy glow” well. Husband David Wailliams announced news of the pregnancy about two weeks ago by posting this message on his Twitter page. “Some wonderful news. My beautiful wife Lara is pregnant. We are having a baby! It is due next year and we both couldn’t be happier. Dx” And a day later, Lara posted this message. “Thank you so much everybody for your very kind tweets.”


The star-studded event saw the likes of Agyness Deyn, French actress Marion Cotillard, Emily Blunt and Amy Adams putting their collective fashion clout forward to make it a fashionable event. Emily Blunt looked heavenly in a strapless white Calvin Klein gown while Amy Adams wooed in a Giorgio Armani black dress with a peplum waist. Agyness Deyn toned it down in a cropped brown pantsuit and Marion Cotillard showed off a demure navy blue dress from Raf Simon’s haute couture collection. It was a time to see and be seen and the celebrity crowd did just fine in that respect.
Coming back to Lara and her baby bump. David and Lara are already parents to baby #1, Bert the pooch and the model has even joked on Twitter that she is “Bert’s mum” and that “A baby will probably never be as fun as Bert.” Hmmm….well, she might just be singing a different tune when baby #2 makes its appearance in a little less than 9 months from now.
