Wrestling is
the home of the hardest working women in professional wrestling. These
athletic, sexy and talented ladies give it everything they’ve got it all
and few could argue with this description. Stepping into the ring week
after week, month after month and year after year, these ladies put
their bodies on the line in pursuit of ring perfection.
So here I have compiled a list of some of the best female wrestlers of all time.
Lita
She makes it in the list because of her
innovative high-flying and dangerous moves. This brought on a new era of
risk-taking women in the ring.
Trish Stratus
She has been put through tables and left
a match having to lose a knuckle. Trish was a record breaking 7 time
Women’s Champion as well as Hardcore champion. She retired with the
title.
Chyna
Chyna was wrestling male and females
alike and had several great achievements until a personal matter ended
her brilliant WWE career.
June Byers
She got her title in questionable ways
from Mildred Burke in the late 1940s. She kept that title until 1956
when she spoke of retirement. The title was vacated and won by the
Fabulous Moolah in a 13 women battle royal.
Wendi Richter
She set the stage for women wrestling
becoming popular. With Cyndi Lauper in her corner, she won the belt from
Fabulous Moolah in the 1980s and had a fantastic career.
Sherri Martel
She had a very colorful career. Champion
herself, manager of champions and even Queen of the Ring. Sherri made a
name for herself the hard way.
Awesome Kong
She is the only one on the list still
wrestling. Kong makes it on the list because of her pure domination in
wrestling since her conception. Awesome Kong is Awesome!
Judy Grable
Judy Grable beat anyone put in front of her… except the Fabulous Moolah.
Mildred Burke
She wrestled in the 1940s and 1950s,
held the title for 10 years. She was beat by June Byers in what is
considered the first screw-job in wrestling.
The Fabulous Moolah
While she held her title for about 30
unbelievable years, she also once had rights to the belt that is now the
WWE Women’s Title. She began her career in 1949 and continued to
wrestle until 2003. She won the title for the fourth time when she was
80. That is why she is the best female wrestler of all time.
